The BCS Marathon is designed to make a difference in the community and around the world. The purpose and motivation truly comes out as they host this event each year. There is a level of excellence you will find with this organization that you will be hard pressed to find anywhere else.

The course is good, not hard. The fans, crowds, aid stations, director, are AWESOME!

Run for Freedom - mercyproject.net and run for freedom in your own life as well.

This is by far the best marathon I have run!! All the perks leading up to the race are superb, and the after party is one of the best!! The organizer really makes an effort to make sure everything runs smooth and that everyone, especially the runners, are happy! Without a doubt I would recommend this race to every beginning race runner and to expert runners looking for a strong, competitive race!!

"Big city marathon in a small city setting." (about: 2013)

I first ran this marathon in its debut in 2011. It was well done with just a few rough spots. I ran it for the second time in 2013 and those rough spots have been smoothed over.

The start is easy to get to. Lots of free parking at the mall very close to the start. The course is flat with a few mild rises. It seemed the majority was asphalt with the rest concrete. The full marathon is a single loop that runs through the cities of College Station and Bryan, and the campus of Texas A&M University. Expect a bit of crowding the first four miles until the half marathon breaks off. Miles are well marked with large tear drop banners.

Organization was first class with continual updates from the race director as the date approached. Plenty of aid stations with fuel at no less than four.

Spectators were great. A lot of the course was run on the A&M campus and many student organizations had their own cheer squads to run past. This added a lot to the experience.

Sign up early before it sells out.

"Amazing first time experience" (about: 2013)

First Marathon
COURSE: 5  ORGANIZATION: 5  FANS: 5

I can't believe what an amazing experience this event was. I have never run in any type of race before so I did not know what to expect. Seeing all the spectators as we ran through town was the highlight of my time. They were so encouraging and supportive. Then to have the welcome at the finish line with a smorgasbord of treats just seemed to have topped off the entire event. I'm pretty sure I had a smile on my face the whole time and it didn't go away for the rest of the day. I couldn't wait to talk to everyone about the race.

"Great Venue for a Great Race!" (about: 2013)

The best part of the BCS Marathon is the people who put it on. Though the venue is great (rural and urban landscapes as well as a great tour through the TAMU campus) it is the personable and helpful tenor of the people who run and volunteer for the BCS Marathon who make this race a great success and make me want to run it year after year.

The organizers did a great job preparing the course and comunicating about the weather. The after race amenities were fantastic. I liked the course better this year than last, the longer part on campus was nice.

Great experience for my first marathon. Organization and course support were exceptional! Spectators were space in some areas, but it was in the low 30's most of the race. The supporters on the A&M campus were terrific and helped me get through the last miles.
