COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 From the moment I nervously registered to post-race the process was fantastic. Registration and packet pick-up were smooth and easy. The course was beautiful. Spectators were friendly and encouraging the entire way. Water stops were plentiful. My pacer was absolutely super! Every tiny detail from litter control to the announcer caller your name on the bridge was covered. I can't imagine a more perfect race environment for first time marathoners! Thank you to all the volunteers and race organizers! Great job!

"AWESOME Race for a BQ" (about: 2013)

COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 4 Great course on a beautiful path along the river. Fairly flat, just a few small hills. Organization was great. Spectators are sparse in spots, but the scenery pulls you through. It was my 5th marathon and I was shooting for a BQ and got it by nearly 5 minutes!! I'd recommend it for anyone looking for a smaller race for a fast time.

COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 This race went absolutely perfect from packet pick up to race day! The organizers truly care about the runners. I highly recommend this marathon for any runner but especially for first time marathoners, the course is shaded and flat for the most part. Kudos to the volunteers again they seemed to really care about the runners and their safety.

COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 Running the 20 mile is very important to me and I am very grateful for the many volunteers who make it possible, especially in the last half, around Fabyan. They kept me on the right course. I liked the turn around at 16.

"This course is a hilly bugger!" (about: 2013)

COURSE: 4 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 Please do not advertise that it's a flat course. It was a knee melter! I'm so thankful to the first aid crew members that came to me with ice after the race! Over all though, it was a great experience. The music at the start line was awesome too. And thank you to pacer Beth!

"Details matter" (about: 2013)

| 1 Fox Valley Marathon
COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 This is hands down the most well-organized race I've ever run, and I'm a 13 year racing vet. There are training runs, pacers, plenty of portapotties, rewards for returning racers, personalized bibs so spectators can cheer you on, plenty of water and gatorade stops, and the commentator at the finish line who calls out your name and hometown and gets the crowd to cheer you over the finish line. The course is beautiful and relatively flat. It can get a little congested on the path, but it's kept in check by starting in waves and as long as you stick with your pacer, you should be fine. The t-shirts are awesome and actually fit (as a petite female, it's great that they offer an XS), there is a virtual goodie bag which eliminates all the paper waste, you get regular updates via email, and you can bond with other runners the night before at the Dine and Dash dinner. Gear check was well-staffed and organized. Everybody is so friendly and helpful. Raceflex option is such a great idea. Run this race. You won't regret it. |
