"Best course and marathon organization I have ran." (about: 2012)

COURSE: 4 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 4 The course rating depends on how you like your courses. It was definitely a challenge with many surfaces changes, river path hills, and some small bluff climes. It is a beautiful path - ever changing for interest, filled with cool shade and and serene views. I could always use more spectators and more cheering! Those who were there were fantastic, energetic, funny, and motivating.

COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 I've run Fox Valley twice and I highly recommend it. Beautiful course. Great organization. Flat as a pancake. Would be nice if they took it to the next level and added some course entertainment. Loved running along the Fox River. Well done!

"amazing local event great community builder" (about: 2012)

COURSE: 3 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 Everything was extremely organized and well put together - the course was well marked and the support was amazing. It was great to see such a collaboration amoung the community coming together to host such a fun day! At times, the course was a little frustrating in order to hit it's mileage (the loop around fabayan on the way back - you're SO tired, the last thing you want to do is go make an extra loop). I understand it's tough to hit the mileage exactly, but that was my personal observation and only complaint about the entire day - GREAT event!!

COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 This was my first half marathon. The people who organized the marathon were excellent. They truly could not have been nicer or more accommodating! The course was so beautiful, it made the run very enjoyable. The volunteers were amazing and having our first names on our bibs was great because everyone cheering was yelling your name with encouragement to keep going. It was an amazing experience that I will definitely repeat next year!

COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 I've been so impressed with the way this race is organized. The practice runs on the course, communications before the race and the way everything was handled on race day was absolutely top notch. Truly minimizes the stress levels so I could focus on the race itself. This was my third race (half-marathon/5ks) but 1st with Fox Valley. I'm looking forward to signing up for my first marathon with them next year.

"Fun Small Local Race PR course" (about: 2012)
11-50 previous marathons
| 1 Fox Valley Marathon
COURSE: 4 ORGANIZATION: 4 FANS: 4 The course had enough variety and rollers to make it interesting. Much of it was on a scenic wooded bike path along the Fox River. Just enough spectators to pull me along. Small expo but easy in and out. There were mile markers at every mile, no clocks. Enough fluid stations. 3 race distances to choose from: half marathaon, 20 miler & full marathon. I PR'd by 7 min in the full so I was thriled. 2900 total number of runners. Nice long-sleeve tech shirt, ok medal, nice glass award. Post race food: fruit, bagels, chips,Freezies and steak. Thumbs up on this one!

"Great scenic course and top-notch organization" (about: 2012)
6-10 previous marathons
| 1 Fox Valley Marathon
COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 I was impressed with everything about this race. Scenic run mostly on paved Fox River trail, many parts in shade. The first few miles are on a road and runners are released in waves of about 1 minute intervals. This assured a good separation of runners before hitting the trail. The mid course is out and back so the trail is shared with runners going both ways. However this was not a problem. Also the trail remained open for other users but there were very few on the trail during the race. |
