"The most enjoyable half!" (about: 2013)

COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 This has got to be the best half in Texas! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed running in it last year and decided to do it again this year. Despite a drastic change in temperatures from last year to this year, we once again found ourselves walking away with huge grins on our faces! Here is why we have vowed to do this race every yet from here on out and for as long as our bodes are able: -the race benefits incredible charities including Mercy Project which frees children from slavery in Ghana -the race directors/organizers are so passionate about this race and encouraging new runners. Every runner gets a high five or hand shake from the race director as they cross the finish line -the route is mostly flat and beautiful -the spectators are awesome!! There were so many encouraging posters and spectators along the route, including some pretty entertaining student groups on Texas A&M campus -great after race party :)

COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 3 Was entered into the cancelled Dallas race, only to find out that BCS was opening up spots on Friday prior to the race. Amazing job accommodating so many additional runners who otherwise would have been disappointed! I BCS marathon was awesome, extremely well organized and a great fast course. It was a cold day out there so the fans were likely more sparse than usual, but definitely most organized marathon in Texas.

"If I could give this race 10 stars I would!" (about: 2013)
1 previous marathon
| 1 Bryan/College Station Marathon
COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 This race series is well organized, has fantastic runner perks and is all done for a good cause. It's amazing what the director does each year to accommodate runners especially this year. He opened up 400 runner spots for people who were supposed to run the Dallas race and were unable to. He also let people defer last minute who were unable to travel due to the icy conditions.

"Best race in Texas?" (about: 2013)
2 previous marathons
| 1 Bryan/College Station Marathon
COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 I've run a few dozen races from 5k to Marathon. This, far and away, was the most well orgaonzed race I have ever run. Phenomenal communication from the race director - from months in advance up until and after the run. The course was challenging enough and took runners through some cool areas. I'd do this race over the Dallas Marathon 100% of the time.

"Great race! Planning on doing it again next year!" (about: 2013)
2 previous marathons
| 2 Bryan/College Station Marathons
COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 I did the half last year, and I can definitely say what few things they could have improved upon they did!! The half this year was great, plenty of water stations, a free snacks and gu station, port-a-potties along the way, great t shirts, and awesome spectators cheering for you the whole way! |
